A touch of history
Sorsky is a family company, founded in 1919, and it is now a well-established member of the Yeoward Group of Companies which celebrated its centenary in 1994. The last five years have seen an acceleration in the business's national growth through the acquisition of stategically located Regional Distribution Centres in Godalming, Surrey and Dundee, Scotland.
Since establishing its core workwear & PPE business in the 1970s, Sorsky has expanded its product range and distribution network to cover all the U.K. and it has developed into an important supplier to business in general and in particular to the food processing and pharmaceutical industries. To provide customers with a competitive, quality service, Sorsky now directly imports many products to supplement its own brand range of Safetouch, Safewear and Safewipe products.
On the move
Sorsky has three distribution centres in Britain and it has recently moved its Head office and Northern Distribution Centre to larger premises in Widnes, Cheshire. This move illustrates the support of the Yeoward Group and the commitment of Sorsky management to the continuous improvement of service to its customers.
The Company has thus developed the capability to supply a wide range of products efficiently and quickly at competitive prices - a prerequisite to becoming a "one-stop-shop" supplier. The target of Sorsky's management is to become the single-source supplier of PPE to major manufacturing and processing companies and they have supported this aim by investing in sufficient stock-holding to deliver the high level of service expected by their clients. Orders are delivered within two days and an overnight service is available if required.
Future direction
Sorsky's objective is to provide a complete supply and stock management service of PPE and workwear products for corporate clients, both large and small.
As part of its strategy to improve its appeal to potential customers, Sorsky will continue to expand its product range and it also plans to add new Distribution Centres to the existing network and to develop distribution channels into continental Europe.
